I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt

of your letter No. 31116 of the 5th. of October with

enclosures respecting the proposed modification in the

design of the superstructure of the Mongkoktsui Ereak-

water, Hong Kong.

2. We communicated these papers to the Consulting

Engineers and I transmit for the information of the

Secretary of State a copy of their reply concurring in

the proposals of the Director of Public Works, and

suggesting a draft telegram for transmission to the

Colonial Government accordingly.
